What is the Louisiana Workforce Child Care Tax Credit?

In 2007, the Louisiana Legislature passed a unique package of tax credits known as the Workforce Child Care Tax Credit (formerly School Readiness Tax Credit). The law R.S. 47:6107 became effective in 2008. Included in this package is a dollar-for-dollar refundable Louisiana state tax credit for businesses, up to $5,000 annually. For example, if your business New Roads Inc. makes a $5,000 donation and your tax bill at year end is $6,000, you will only owe $1,000. And, you will receive a refund check from the state if you do not owe any taxes! That’s a smart investment.

Who can invest through Workforce Child Care Tax Credit (WCCTC)?

All businesses and individuals with a Louisiana Tax ID are eligible, including for-profit; non-profit organizations; sole proprietorships; partnerships; limited liability corporations (LLC); and corporations.

Where do I enter the Workforce Child Care Tax Credit (WCCTC) on my tax return?
